I have been wanting to visit The Cake Bake Shop as soon as I heard about it opening. I recently went on a birthday trip to Disney World and my mom and sister joined me for this very special trip!

History

One of the newest restaurants in Walt Disney World, The Cake Bake Shop is located on Disney World's Boardwalk, officially opening on October 25th, 2024.

Created by Gwendolyn Rodgers, her two other restaurants by the same name are located in Carmel, IN and Indianapolis, IN.

Atmosphere

Every little detail from floor to ceiling shines with elegance and royalty, from the lightly colored walls with pops of gold accents to the glittering chandeliers adorned with Swarovski crystals. Just walking in makes you feel like you are stepping into a fairy tale and you are the princess.

There are five dining rooms with coherent decorations throughout. We were seated at a table in the Rose Crown Ring. The most notable feature in this room is the large circular booth in the center, surrounded by a gazebo with it's very own chandelier inside.

The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. Our waitress was so kind and made sure to make my birthday lunch extra special. She was attentive and friendly and gave us information about a variety of items on the menu as well as some restaurant lore.

Reservations

Now before even stepping foot into this restaurant I made a reservation to make sure I got the specific date and time I wanted for my trip. At one point I did try to see if I could change the time a few days before my reservation date, but there were no available times for that day! I'd highly suggest making a reservation if this is a place you'd like to visit. Walk ups may be available, however, I always recommend booking a reservation for any Disney World restaurant that is on your must do list. You can book dining reservations 60 days in advance and they go up at 6:00 a.m. eastern standard time.

Lunch

When we arrived to Disney's Boardwalk, I checked in for our reservation on the My Disney Experience app about 10 minutes before our check in time. However, after waiting for a bit and our reservation time arrived we decided to check in with one of the restaurant staff. He informed us that the Disney app sometimes doesn't alert them when you check in and it did not alert them when I put in that we arrived on the app. So to be safe when you arrive for your reservation, just walk up to where the cast member is standing at the outside podium or inside desk and they will note that you have arrived.

I've already talked about the atmosphere but walking in and seeing it in person was absolutely breath taking. I could only imagine how I would have felt as a little girl walking in there for the first time ready to have some tea and treats.

The Cake Bake Shop has an extensive drink menu with a variety of teas, champagne and alcoholic and non-alcoholic specialty drinks. I ordered the "Pink Princess" from the non-alcoholic drink menu which was basically a very fancy Shirley Temple (yum!).

There were plenty of items on the lunch menu to choose from, the food on the menu is mostly New Orleans French style inspired cuisine. I ended up ordering the "Black Berry Avacado Salade" with added chicken. The chicken was light and juicy while the spinach, blackberry and avocado were so incredibly fresh and delicious. The combinations of all those flavors with the blue cheese crumbles, toasted almonds and honey balsamic vinaigrette was outstanding. I would not hesitate to order this again on my next visit!

For dessert we all split a slice of the Pixie Fetti Birthday Cake. At $22 a slice it's a very large piece of cake, three of us working together could not finish it after our lunches. The cake had a hint of almond which I personally don't like but it was not so overpowering that it affected my ability to eat and enjoy it. The cake was super soft and moist while the buttercream icing was cloud like in texture and super smooth. I also got to blow out a fancy rose gold glittery candle with special wish making glitter dust from their very own mascot Brûlée the Dragon.

Final Thoughts

Overall my experience was amazing. From the atmosphere, the staff and to the food my family and I had an incredible experience at The Cake Bake Shop. If you are looking for a place the radiates with elegance then this restaurant is for you.

Price wise this restaurant will not be budget friendly, so if you are trying to dine at a lower cost I would recommend skipping this location or just visiting the bakery side and getting a fun little treat.

I would definitely recommend The Cake Bake Shop for special occasions such as a birthday, anniversary or girls trip!
