Topolino's Terrace - Flavor's of the Riviera (Character Breakfast)

Located at Disney's Riviera Resort this dining location features French and Italian flavors for dinner and an artistic Character breakfast in the mornings!

Topolino's Terrace is a rooftop restaurant at Disney's Riviera Resort Hotel, a Deluxe Villa Resort in the Epcot resort area at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. In the mornings this dining location offers "Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends" and at night an upscale (dress code required) signature dining experience with French and Italian inspired cuisine.

This dining location is conveniently located directly next to the moderate resort Disney's Caribbean Beach where my family and I stayed in September 2024. The character dining, which is only offered in the morning, was on my must do list during this visit. We brought our toddler, who was two at the time, for his very first visit to Walt Disney World and we wanted to make it super special. My parents also joined us for this breakfast so in total we had four adults and one child, so a reservation for five. I made our reservation for this location 60 days in advance to our vacation check in date, which I highly recommend doing for any dining experiences that you feel you must do on your vacation.

I scheduled our breakfast to be later in the morning so our reservation was at 11:25 AM. This was our non-park day so we took our time getting around and we had a very slow and relaxing morning. We made our short journey from our room in Aruba 55 at Caribbean Beach to Riviera Resort, just a few minute walk away. We entered the resort main lobby and took an elevator up to the very top where we checked in for our reservation.

The restaurant itself is very stunning and although I have never had dinner at this location I could imagine how luxurious it would feel at night. There are large windows surrounding the dinning room and you can also go out on the balcony to see the stunning views around the resort. If you happen to be there for dinner around the time of Epcot's nighttime show you can step out onto the balcony to get a glimpse of the fireworks.

We were seated towards the back of the restaurant and our waitstaff was incredibly friendly, she made our time there extra special with fun conversation and was extremely helpful with any questions we had. Soon after being seated we were given fresh pastries and bread with three different dipping sauces. Each of the pastries were incredibly tasty and a great start to breakfast, my toddler enjoyed the chocolate chip muffin and croissant the most. Since my toddler was under three at the time he was also "free", our waitstaff brought him a little plate so he could enjoy a little bite of everything from all our meals.

For my entrée I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine, I just cannot help but order eggs benedict if I see it on a menu! The hollandaise sauce was was flavorful and delicious and the creamed spinach was a delightful inclusion. I ate every last bite. My husband ordered the Sour Cream Waffle. This waffle came with roasted apples, Chantilly, orange-maple syrup and a choice of either smoked bacon, ham, sausage or plant-based sausage. The waffles were fluffy and the cream on top was very tasty, if it is still on the menu next time we go, this is what I'll be ordering.

Unfortunately I was so focused on the characters I did not get a picture of any of our plates, however the food was by far the best meal that we had enjoyed on property during that stay.

Although the food was incredible, the real stars of the show were the characters. During this character breakfast you will see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck all dressed in their artistic best. The characters really took their time at each table and made each interaction incredibly special, they even had enough time to come by our table twice before we finished our meal. The characters also had a fun little dance break and moved around the room while guests clapped along with the music, my toddler loved this part and enjoyed clapping while watching the characters come by. Characters will also sign autograph books at the table so remember to bring one if that is something you'd like to do.

My toddler was a little shy at meeting the characters at first but they really took their time and had so much patience with him during the interactions. Eventually he was playing peek-a-boo with each of the characters and started to really enjoy the experience. The characters were so attentive and interactive, they really made us feel special when they came by to see us!

Overall this was one of the best character breakfasts we have experienced recently at Walt Disney World. The overall theming and food was wonderful and the characters really took their time with each guest. Not to mention the adorable outfits each character is wearing specifically for this dining location. The convenience of being walking distance from our resort also made it the perfect non-park day activity. If you are staying at Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort or on the skyliner route at the Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts this is a an easy character breakfast to get to.
